I used to have another brand of magnetic scrapper which often gets detached from the tank wall, sank to the bottom of the tank, and had to be fished out. I used a blade scrapper which is bad for the silicone on the joints. Floaty has a stronger magnet and holds on more firmly. Most important it floats to the surface when it is detached (such as moving from one tank wall to the adjacent wall). With the tank water acting as lubricant, it can move around quite easily. The trick is also to gently wet the holder outside the tank to give a smooth travel on the dry glass surface. It is easier to use
and I use it for frequently and reduces the necessity for a blade scrapper. My tank is located closer to windows so a more frequent work on the tank wall is necessary.
