MASSTICK FISH FOOD

Masstick is a blend of diverse, all natural, self-production, highly technical compounds, providing natural and balanced nutrition for omnivorous fish and marine invertebrates. Comprised of raw materials of marine origin. It does not contain attractants, artificial preservatives or synthesis products.

Masstick is a self-adhesive paste in a powder formula, ready for rehydration with water. Once it is rehydrated, it can be stuck to any surface of the aquarium, depending on the animals’ needs. The rehydratable powder formula allows Masstick to be blended with any mollusc or crustacean pulp as well as eggs from fish, molluscs and crustaceans, artemia, mysids, copepods, rotifers and medicines that are administered orally.

Once prepared and introduced into the aquarium, Masstick does not disperse into the water for hours, so it can be completely taken advantage of by fish and crustaceans. This feature allows the product to be used as “ad libitum” or rationed feeding. Because Masstick is comprised mainly of freeze-dried crustaceans, it does not contain fish skeletons and is thus very low in phosphates compared to its protein content.

  • The formulation and dosage procedure of Masstick is a natural attractant for finicky fish that will start feeding immediately or within a short period of time.
  • Palaemonetes varians shrimp is very rich in adenosine triphosphate molecule (ATP), known as “the energy molecule”. Fish and amphibians have specific receptors for this molecule in their olfactory bulb so that they can find the most energetic food very easily and discriminate the less energetic one.
  • Masstick provides an essential source of protein, lipids rich in fatty acids EPA, ARA and DHA, vitamins and carbohydrates, all from natural sources of marine origin.
  • Masstick is mainly composed of freeze-dried crustacean, it does not contain fish skeleton and is therefore very low in phosphates compared to its protein content.
  • Masstick does not contain animal or vegetal compounds from land origin, or from freshwater, attractants, artificial preservatives or synthesis products.
  • The rehydratable powder formulation allows Masstick to blended with any mollusc or crustacean pulp, fish eggs, artemia, mysidaceans, copepods, rotifer and medicines administered orally.

Instructions

Example: Mix 14 g. of Masstick with 7 ml. of osmosis water. Knead in a small ziplock bag until a homogenous mixture is obtained. Once the mixture is homogenous, Masstick may be used immediately or frozen for later use. If freezing Masstick, it should be used within five weeks after preparation.

Instructions for use:
Take a portion of Masstick and stick it on a rock, a branched coral skeleton, or the aquarium glass (preferably on the lower third), or depending on the food-obtaining habits of the animals in the aquarium.

Dosage:

Feed two or three times per day adjusting the amount that can be consumed in less than ten minutes after adding it.

Why do we use these Microalgae ?

Tetraselmis chuii:

  • For its high content of antioxidants Superoxide Dismutase, Catalase and Glutathione Peroxidase.
  • High digestibility for filter feeders and zooplankton.
  • It provides a high content of polysaccharides, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), pigments and other lipid compounds.

Phaeodactylum tricornutum:

  • Its high beta-glucan content improved the immune system of fish, making them more resistant to parasite and diseases.
  • Protein, carbohydrate, and lipid content, rich in antioxidants, carotenoids such as fucoxanthin which helps process fat and prevents its accumulation via tissue.
  • Increases fatty acid oxidation and decreases hepatic content (fatty livers) so frequent in fish.
  • High EPA and DHA content.

Nannochloropsis gaditana:

  • It provides a lipid profile very rich in EPA and ARA.
  • High content of high quality Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA).
  • Source of vitamins and natural antioxidants.

Isochrysis galbana:

  • High content fats rich in essential polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3), mainly DHA.
  • High protein content.
  • Source of natural pigments such as lutein, zeaxanthin, astaxanthin, etc.
